Timebeat
The Cards
Timebeat’s Open Timecard is a nanosecond-accuracy PTP grandmaster clock, designed for precision time synchronization. Featuring built-in support for IEEE 1588 (PTP), NTP, SyncE, and frequency. The Timebeat frequency distribution card is the ideal solution for PPS breakouts in datacentre environments as well as extending solutions such as White Rabbit or high precision PPS distribution.
Validation
Timebeat's Open Time Card and PPS Frequency Distribution Card were tested for functional fit, compatibility, and bring-up in a range of Blackcore servers. Timebeat's focus on engineering quality is clear to see when handling the cards.
Predominantly we tested within our FLEX 3100-SX+ model which is able to support up to 4 double width FPGAs, plus an additional NIC - or in this case, a time card or PPS distributor.
The Open Time Card
The card is available in a half-height and full-height configuration and is simple to install. The full height card includes additional PPS connectors at the top of the PCIe bracket, these need to be detached prior to installing into the chassis and re-attached after. The card works out of the box and is detected in Rocky 8.10 with a built in Intel I226-LM NIC driver but should be detected in any recent Linux release. The Open Time Card is compatible with all Blackcore servers, however full-height variant will only be compatible with full-height PCIe slots.
PPS Frequency Distribution Card
The card is simple to install and is compatible with all Blackcore servers. Full-height variant will only be compatible with full-height PCIe slots.
